^Lot 2056 PRE-64 WINCHESTER MODEL 70 FEATHERWEIGHT BOLT

ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 270 Win. S# 340777. Bbl. 21 3/4". Model 70 Featherweight bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1955. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo, followed by the model and cal. designations. Receiver and bolt handle exhibit a matte blue finish, with the bbl. and bolt shroud exhibiting a standard blue finish. Bolt body is polished in-the-white. Aluminum trigger guard and floorplate exhibit a black enamel type finish. 1-piece checkered wood Monte Carlo pistol grip stock, with checkered aluminum buttplate. Ramped, hooded, and aluminum beaded blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Receiver is drilled and tapped. Bolt matches the receiver via the full S#, which is electro-penciled on the underside of the bolt body. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory finishes, exhibiting a few spots of light to mild thinning overall. Bbl. exhibits a few spots of light surface oxidation. Bolt knob shows light to mild thinning that shows through to gray patina. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1943/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
